Bandicoot Brook Reserve holds special cultural significance to Bindjareb people, and the  68ha linear reserve of remnant vegetation provides an important linkage between the Murray River in the east and the Peel-Harvey Estuary in the west. 

Bandicoot Reserve's management plan centres on land protection, cultural stewardship, and ecological restoration, underpinning both environmental and community health.

The strategy prioritizes traditional knowledge transfer from Elders to youth, using the six seasons framework and ongoing mentoring through events, ranger programs, and school partnerships.
