Membership at WAATSIC is about connection, voice and shared responsibility for the future of our community. It provides an opportunity to be part of decision-making, stay informed and contribute to the ongoing strength of culture and community.
WAATSIC Membership
Membership of WAATSIC is open to all Waroona Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people or people in a relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are over 15 years old. A person can apply for membership in writing, and membership is free. Non-Indigenous people can apply to be members; however, a majority of members must be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. WAATSIC has up to 8 Directors elected by its community members at an AGM. Following the rules (constitution), each Director serves for two years and can be re-elected.
